Turning Jane.com’s Seller Onboarding and Approvals into a Scalable Operating System.

A 40,000-person health system had a dozen product teams building the same components fourteen different ways. I built the first shared design system — and, harder, got the teams to use it.

The challenge was to create a system that balanced simplicity with flexibility, enabling consistent interactions while allowing for customisation across markets, products, and technical implementations.

Role & Contributions

As Lead UX Designer, I led the strategy, design and implementation of Providence's first centralized design system, unifying design and engineering practices across teams while improving consistency, accessibility, and delivery speed.

This included auditing production experiences, defining the system architecture, designing tokens and components, establishing governance, and driving adoption across design, product, and engineering. I partnered closely with front-end engineers, content strategists, and clinical stakeholders, and was accountable not only for launching the system, but for ensuring its long-term adoption and sustainability.
